RACE DAY is approaching!

Race day is quickly approaching! Click HERE for a larger version of the image above, but please plan on a $2-5 donation to our Alma College Men's Varsity Lacrosse parking volunteers, and if you're planning to camp, please set up in an orderly way along the west boundary of the "Camping and Parking" area, as to allow for as many cars on the grass as we can fit.

Planning for 2021!

...that's right, we're already planning for the 8th annual Avalon Pontoons Alma Grand Prix of Cyclocross on Saturday, September 11! Right now we're looking forward to Monday Fun Days in August, the early number pick up party at the Alma Brewing Co. on Friday night (from 6-8 p.m.), and a new casual bike skills "competition" afterwards thanks to our friends at Up.Bike!

Stay tuned for registration information, and keep riding!

We're virtual!

Welcome to the 2020 ALMA GRAND PRIX Call-Up! presented by Avalon Pontoons! You can register for this year's (virtual) event HERE.

In light of the current state of things we are shifting this year's face-to-face event to a fun virtual event, designed to help support the continuation of our (local, national, and worldwide) cyclocross community. You do not need to be anywhere near Alma to join in!

Starting on September 7, we’ll have fun with our regularly scheduled countdown videos (but this year, with a twist!). We’ll wrap up on Saturday, September 12, with a casual morning Zwift Meetup followed by the  ALMA GRAND PRIX  Call-Up!, a live Zoom event, featuring a Q&A session with top professional racers and a fun trivia game with fantastic prizes! The Zwift Meetup will take place at 9:00 a.m., and the Call-Up! will take place at 12:00 noon (Eastern Standard Time).

As always, we have fantastic swag and prizes to give away:

Thanks to Avalon Pontoons, the first 45 registrants will receive a custom Verge Sport facemask and the first 60 registrants will receive a custom neck buff from Monton.

Also, all (90) participants will receive a custom #Call-Up cycling cap, thanks to Arbor Move, nutrition from our friends at Science In Sport, and a gorgeous custom water bottle thanks to Alma College.

We have great raffle prizes and trivia primes, thanks to Kuat Racks (a Transfer rack!), Michigan Bicycle Law (t-shirt and water bottle packs!), Up.Bike (practice barriers!), Alma Brewing Co. (gift cards!), ESI Grips (prize packs!), Stan's No Tubes (swag!), and Grimpeur Bros. (COFFEE)!

Pre-registration closes on Friday, September 11, and is capped at 90 (so register asap!). T-shirts are available by pre-order only and quantities are limited. All pre-ordered items and your swag bags will be shipped to your home address.

Be sure to follow along on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! Join in the Facebook event HERE (and thank you for sharing this with your friends!)

The Zoom Call-Up! will be recorded, edited, and published by the Bike Shop CX podcast. By registering for this event you are acknowledging this recording will be made public.

A link and password to the Zoom Call-Up! will be shared with registered participants prior to the meeting. By registering for this event you are agreeing not to share or make public the Zoom meeting and password information (via social media or otherwise).

It's almost race day!

While pre-registration is now closed, we're excited to see you on race day! You can still "late" register on Friday night at the Alma Brewing Co. (from 6-8 p.m.) and up to 30 minutes before your race.

We hope to see you on Saturday...we have LOTS of swag to give away!

New advertisements!

As we draw closer to race day, it's time to get a few things in line! First on the list is the course, which we've been hard at work at since May. Spring locally was very wet, and we've spent more time mowing this year than ever before. That, of course, was followed up by two very dry weeks, meaning much of the (short) grass is very crispy! Stay tuned to our Twitter and Instagram pages for course updates.

Second, our race advertisements are now set for printing! If you'd like either file to print for your local shop (thank you!) you can find them HERE on Google Drive.

Lastly, don't forget to register, and be sure to invite your friends! You can sign up for both the 5K trail run and the cyclocross race on BikeReg.
