2017 Sponsorship opportunities

While the 2016 season hasn't even officially closed yet, we're already in the works for planning 2017 to improve on what is already a really fun race day. As you probably know, I promote the Alma Grand Prix of Cyclocross year-round, and as such, if you are interested in a partnership to help co-brand your business and/or products, I'd love to hear from you! 2017: Save the Date

2017 marks the FOURTH year of the Alma Grand Prix of Cyclocross, so save the date!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2017

...and start planning your early fall skills clinics now...barring any issues, we'll once again plan on Monday Fun Day rides in August on the course!

In case you haven't seen this, Chris Aitken and Tom Chapman, both of the Focus Attaquer Cycling Team, made a trip to Alma on one of their "off" weekends while in the U.S.! Here's their post-visit video from #AussiesInAlma2016...enjoy!

Race venue map, camping & food!

Take a look at the above map of the venue. Parking (if you're early) can be found in the lot to the right (East) of the big bus garage. If you have a Kuat Rack on your car, please feel free to park in the VIP Parking area by proceeding through the orange cones that will mark a path (next to the kid's course).

If you're late to the venue, you'll likely need to park to the north or south of the road that you drive in on. I'll have a small number of parking helpers on hand to guide your way!

Don't forget about the ProGold pit area and bike wash (located next to the Alma Transportation Center) - the forecast is looking wet, so don't go home with a dirty bike!

We're also excited to have a great wood-fired pizza vendor on site for race day! Plan your race day food options accordingly, and don't forget to stop by the Alma Brewing Company later on for $1 off pints (show your bib number)!

ALL day-of registrants will be allowed to stage after the pre-registered racers have been called to the line by the official. DO NOT miss your call up!

Don't forget the 5K!

Is your spouse, significant other, kid, grandmother, father, best friend...coming to the Alma GP with you on Saturday, September 10? Do they like to run?

Well sign them up for the FIRST 5k running race at the Snap Fitness Alma Grand Prix! Runners will complete two laps of the cyclocross course, hurdling the Bike Law barriers, traversing the Ass Savers steps, and climbing up the Pleasant Optics staircase, while on their FUN workout!

ALL finishers will take home one of these great medals as well as a sport towel from Biggby in Alma!

Hurry though! Registration is capped at 250 total runners, and pre-registration closes on Tuesday, September 6!

Name that beer! Contest is open!

Thanks to the Alma Brewing Company we're once again partnering to run a "name that beer" contest! Entries are due by Monday, September 5 (Labor Day) at 5:00 p.m. EST. Post your beer name(s) to the appropriate post on the Alma GP Facebook page HERE! Enter as many times as you want, but make sure to read the comments above your entry as to not double up on someone's intellectual property...

This year the special batch is described as "Belgian golden ale, light hint of a bubble gum flavor, with a sweet floral finish..." Basically awesome!

This year the Alma GP is expanding once again - this time adding a 5k running race to the day's events! While the exact schedule is still in limbo, the 5k event will be early in the morning, and runners will complete two laps of the course. Speaking of the course, we're looking to get out there this month and make a few additions and alterations to continue to improve on the race day experience. Keep your eyes on the Alma GP Facebook page and don't forget to join and invite your friends to the Event page as well! I'll post photos as work commences.

Also, in August we'll start up weekly clinics/rides at the course. The format is yet to be determined, but put a place holder in your calendar for Wednesday or Thursday nights in August to come and sharpen your skills in a fun and casual format. Worlds Watching Party on January 31!

Come join us on Sunday, January 31, at Biggby Coffee here in Alma for this year's world championships viewing party! Elite men start at 9:00 a.m. EST, so plan to get there around 8:30 or 8:45.
